Kaihua (William) Hou is a PhD student in the Computational Precision Health (CPH) program, a joint program between UC Berkeley and UCSF, where he is co-advised by Ahmed Alaa and Geoff Tison. His research develops foundation models for medical imaging, aiming to build systems that learn clinically meaningful representations and translate into real-world impact for patient care. In parallel, he works on advancing the capabilities and trustworthiness of large language and multimodal models, including their reasoning, reliability, and alignment. He received his B.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
